The Writers Place Reading Series presents Marianne Kunkel, Mary Stone, Olivia Stiffler, and Randall Weiss.
Marianne Kunkel is the author of The Laughing Game and poems that have appeared in Notre Dame Review, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Rattle, Poet Lore, and elsewhere. She holds a Ph.D. in English (Poetry) from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing and Publishing at Missouri Western State University and the Editor-in-Chief of The Mochila Review, a national undergraduate literary journal.
Mary Stone is the author of One Last Cigarette and Mythology of Touch, two poetry collections. She currently teaches English at Missouri Western State University where she also coordinates the First Thursdays Poetry Open Mic Series, edits for Stone Highway Review, and works as an editor for Sundress Publications.
Olivia Stiffler’s first book of poetry, Otherwise, we are safe, was published by Dos Madres Press in 2013 after she began writing in earnest post-retirement. She lives in Bluffton, South Carolina, among alligators, blue herons, and a host of other creatures who, like herself, appreciate the marsh grass, pluff mud, and pine trees that thrive near the Atlantic Ocean.
Randall Weiss, UMKC student, has poems published in several magazines, including NAP Literary Magazine and Crosstimbers: An Interdisciplinary Journal. He is currently working on his first full-length poetry collection. He and his family live in the Kansas City area. You can find him on Twitter and Instagram as @rweissguy.
